What’s the difference between a basic bike fitting and a medical bike fitting?
A basic bike fitting consists of a ~90-minute appointment, including an interview, objective evaluation, cycling assessment, and modifications. A medical bike fitting is all of that plus a PT evaluation, which is recommended if you’re experiencing pain both on and off the bike. No referral is needed for either type of bike fitting.
Why should I see a physical therapist for a bike fitting?
GO PHYSIO PTs have a deep understanding of the body that allows us to better assess biomechanics on a bike. We assess your strength and range of motion to determine the exercises that will most benefit you as a cyclist. In addition, we can correspond with your medical team to help design a holistic treatment plan.
Do you take insurance?
We accept FSA/HSA, credit cards, cash, and checks for all our services. We recommend that you contact your insurance company and ask about coverage with an out-of-network provider.
If you’d like to seek reimbursement from your insurance, we can provide you with the proper documentation, called a Superbill. GO PHYSIO does not communicate with insurance companies directly.
Why should I go to GO PHYSIO when I have insurance?
When you go to an in-network PT, your insurance company dictates the type of treatment you receive. When you come to GO PHYSIO, we are able to focus on your therapeutic needs as opposed to the needs of your insurance company.
In addition, seeing an out-of-network provider can save you money. If you haven’t met your insurance deductible, you’re still paying for each in-network appointment you make.
What if I don’t know what size bike I need?
We can help you determine what size bike is appropriate for your body and goals. Come in for a Bike Fitting Size Assessment ($150) and go home with a list of measurements and recommended bike sizes.
If you end up purchasing a bike based on our recommendations, you can bring it in for a discounted Basic Bike Fitting to get everything dialed in.
